My first post. ever.

So i finally got the time to sit down and figure this stuff out. So everything is starting to get settled. I moved into my apartment which seems nice. I live with a brother and sister from Bolivia, a boy from the north of spain, and another girl who i don’t really know much about. I started some of my classes this week and they seem good. I’m taking a class on Islam, Art in the 20th century (spain), and contemporary history of spain. All the professors seem good and interesting too. I have to figure out if my other classes start next week or the following. It’s  a little intimidating that they are all in spanish but it should make my spanish better. Anyways, the weather here is ok, it’s been rainy and cold but better than in the US. I’ve been seeing our spanish friend Laura at least once a week which is really nice. Her and her boyfriend have been very nice and really helpful. Anyways, I have to go figure out what time my classes start. I think I will be able to start writing regularly!

  1. sounds really interesting Caitlin. What an experience you are getting. Are you wearing your UW Madison t-shirt every day?

I’m taking Grandma to the DR today. We may spring her free from the “rehab center”. She’s ready to leave.

Everything else is pretty status quo. Lots of white stuff outside, but it’s supposed to warm up to 40 this weekend so hopefully some of it will go away.

    Tried any spanish vino?

  3. Hi Caitlin, I’m happy to see you writing! And I hardly had to bug you about it at all. (Or did it seem like I did?) Don’t forget to tell everyone that all 5 of your classes are in Spanish, but some of the kids in your program have all of their classes in English. Too bad for them… they might as well have stayed in Madison. Keep it up! Love, Gregg

  4. Hi Caitlin,
I just can’t imagine going to classes in a second language! It’s one thing to talk to one person
in your 2nd tongue, but to attend lectures where the prof is speaking in his/her major language
    - the ‘words’ would go by so quickly. Best wishes
    Good for you!
    I’ll keep in touch.
    Love, Grandpa Paul

  7. Ihola Caitlin!
It sounds like you are settling in. I can’t imagine attending classes in another language but then again, many times my Kindergarten students act like I’m speaking in a tongue other than English! Hope that you get your class schedule figured out. Let me know when Tommy sends you a donation…I might even match it !!
    Ihasta la vista!

  8. Guess what !! We are having a heat wave in February. It’s suppose to get into the 50s today. Too bad you will miss all this nice weather. Glad you got Caffeine Beach up and running. It will be fun to hear about your escapades in Spain. How are the classes going? Are you able to help other students with their english. Soon you will be thinking in spanish and not even realize it. Keep up the good work and have fun too.
